Terms and Conditions for Booking Retreat Rooms at Bodhicitta Meditation Retreat Suan Phueng

BMR (Bodhicitta Meditation Retreat) does not teach meditation. Therefore, retreatants accept the responsibility of having enough knowledge to conduct their own retreat schedule and manage their own mental health.

Retreats take place in nature. BMR cannot control the weather, insects or wild animals. Retreanants need to take care of their own health (mental health and physical health) during the retreat and keep themselves safe.

During the booking process you will be asked a small number of questions about your own meditation experience and the meditation practice you would like to conduct while on your self led meditation retreat. We need to know this information in order to avoid issues arising to you personally or to other retreatants during your time on personal retreat. Therefore it is very important to answer these questions as accurately as possible.

BMR staff will make a decision based on the personal information you provide as to whether you would be a good fit for a self led retreat at our facility or not. We reserve the right to decide ourselves on whether your booking request can be fulfilled. We will confirm this to by email.

BMR asks suggests retreants to make a donation for their retreat. The price calculated on the booking form is the suggested donation. Once a retreatant has made a booking then BMR will make contact by email to propose ways in which the suggested donation can be made.

It is your responsiblity to inform BMR staff of any medication that you need to take while you are on solo retreat in Thailand. You must also ensure that you any necessary meditation with you.

Silence is observed between 10pm and 6am at the retreat centre. Please refrain from making phone calls or watching teaching videos (without headphones) in your room between these times.

Buddhist rules must be adhered to during the period of retreat, including:

  • Refrain from taking life. Not killing any living being.
  • Refrain from taking what is not given. Not stealing from anyone. Respecting property.
  • Refrain from sexual misconduct.
  • Refrain from wrong speech. Be mindful of your speech.
  • Refrain from intoxicants that cloud the mind.

To be clear, retreatants may not consume alcohol or any other intoxicating substances while on personal retreat in Thailand. Smoking is not permitted in retreat accomodation.

Under extreme or persistent cases of the terms and conditions not being adhered to, we reserve the right to ask a retreatant to leave.
